The sequencer blues project of Rik Warren and David Schlechtriemen.
The kick with Walk is the evolution to sequencer blues; leaving electric blues in the past by warping their sonic creations with 21st century gadgetry.
—Now Then Manchester
One of the most stubbornly ungooglable bands you are ever likely to encounter, Walk have, nevertheless, established themselves as a bonafide word-of-mouth DIY phenomenon, playing to packed audiences across the UK and enthusiastically championed by BBC 6 Music’s Marc Riley (and subsequently BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends team).
The duo have a formidable CV between them: Warren being a founder member of Ernie’s Rhythm Section, Noon and The Hallelujah Whip, while Schlechtriemen drummed for Driver Drive Faster, The Miserable Rich and his own project The Pickpocket Network. Both also play for Honeyfeet.
Trivia: The two of them constructed the bars at Salford’s First Chop venue and Manchester’s Antwerp Mansion with their own bare hands.
Rik and David went their separate ways in 2014.
