Please Note
Due to an acute (but hopefully temporary) feeling of ennui, we are not listening to any music submissions or considering adding any new artists to the roster at present. We also do not have any job vacancies or a need for interns (but nevertheless extend our best wishes and thanks to all who wish to join us).
If you still want to get in touch please complete the form on this page (fields marked with a * are required). If you prefer, you can also email us direct at info@debtrecords.net.
Artists
Though we have a keen passion for all things new and interesting, we are less than thrilled to receive messages that have clearly been copied, pasted and sent to every single record label in the universe – an indiscriminate scorched-earth policy really doesn’t work. Please be aware: we are simply not interested in “the next big thing” and “deserving talent” and “give me a chance” – you don’t need a label to get your stuff out there; just get on with it and stop asking permission. Do stuff. Lots of it. That’s the way to get noticed, not by sending begging letters to people in supposed positions of power. Work with other artists, learn on the job and make an impact gradually and realistically. Do something meaningful, the world doesn’t need more pop stars, it needs art to make sense of its problems and inspire people to come together to solve them. If you just want people to tell you how great you are, well good luck but we’re not interested. Write songs about real things and make them come alive with the help of those around you. Find your local scene and if there isn’t one create it yourself. Don’t look for a label to provide you with a short cut – there are no shortcuts. Own your career and learn the hard way. It’ll make more sense and you’ll get a clearer idea of what you actually want.
Response Times
Please note that we are a very small team and we get a lot of emails; we do our best to respond to everything that comes in but sometimes fall behind. Feel free to resend.
